Kingdom Monera

If you were to categorize organisms in the Kingdom Monera, some of the characteristics of them would be that they have a prokaryotic cell organization, which means they have no nucleus. Another characteristic of this kingdom is that the organisms are single-celled. The organisms in this kingdom either produce food, or "hunt" food.

Heterotrophic Bacteria

A type of Monera in the taiga is bacteria, Soil bacteria, and heterotrophic bacteria, are among the many bacteria in the taiga. Heterotrophic bacteria are a rod shaped bacteria. Heterotrophic bacteria are also found near water or in it.

Another type of Monera in the taiga is the Myzobacteria ("slime bacteria"), which is mostly found in soil. Myzobacteria comes in many different shapes, with one of the shapes being the rod shape. The picture to the right is an example of the rod shape. The scientific name of this organism is Sorangium cellulosum.

Kingdom Protista

The definition of the Kingdom Protista is that the organisms have a nucleus and organelles. Most of the organisms in this kingdom are single-celled, but they can also multi-celled. Some organisms in this kingdom "hunt" food, while other organisms produce food.

Kingdom Fungi

The definition of Kingdom Fungi is that the organisms are multi-celled and have no chlorophyll. They also absorb the nutrients around them, instead of "hunting" their food.
